Process

Single sign-on (SSO) is a specialized form of software authentication that enables a user to authenticate once and gain access to the resources of multiple software systems. In this case it means that a user that has logged on to Windows can start using IFS Applications without having to log on explicitly.

This guide describes how to get SSO working with WebLogic. This form of SSO works with Windows Integrated Authentication. For this solution to work the client machine must run  Windows and belong to a Windows domain.

Process

This guide will describe how to setup and configure the Active Directory of the Windows Domain to be used with Kerberos and WebLogic. Then how to manually create and edit configuration files for WebLogic. This document describes configuration for WebLogic servers that run on Windows and Unix operating systems. Where ever there is a difference in configuration depending on the environment the difference is clearly highlighted.

Prerequisites

  1. Client machines running Windows.
  2. They must exist in a Windows domain.
  3. Must have access to Active Directory of the Windows Domain.
  4. Oracle WebLogic server can run on either Windows or Linux environment.
  5. When installing IFS applications the option externally identified must be selected in the Configure user authentication panel.
