Configure user authentication method for WebLogic

This form is only shown when Application Server Type is weblogic and Extended Server or Web Client is deployed.

The form doesn't change the WebLogic domain configuration, but will affect the application to deploy. By selecting one of the three possible values you indicate how authentication will be handled in your WebLogic server domain.

Actions

Select how users will be authenticated by the WebLogic Server realm.

• Oracle Database
  The realm will later be configured to do Oracle user authentication using the IFSOracleAuthenticator authentication provider (this is the default used in the domain template you use when creating a WebLogic domain).
• Externally Identified
  The WebLogic security realm will be configured for Windows Single Sign-On. This will change auth-method from BASIC to CLIENT-CERT.
  The Installer will also suggest you use LDAP when re-authenticating users (Security Checkpoint).
• Other
  Use this option to indicate that the WebLogic security realm will be configured for a custom user authentication using HTTP Basic (username/password). One common example is LDAP authentication.

Note

HTTP Basic authentication is not particularly secure (it will transmit username and password in clear text format). Both Oracle Database and Other will use HTTP Basic. If any of these two are selected and you are concerned about security you should use SSL (HTTPS instead of HTTP).
